             We welcome Col Lawton back to Piston Recordings with his latest 
             treat titled, Run EP. This one follows his last effort alongside 
             Hisking with, You Touch Me. Based in the UK, Col remains at the 
             forefront of the scene, and has done for quite a while garnering 
             a solid rep amongst his peers. He fell in love with music from 
             an early age, listening to the likes of The Jam, Stone roses, 
             Blue and Oasis. He was first influenced by friends at house 
             parties who taught him and inspired him to become a DJ. In the 
             early 2000's he began to have an interest in producing, taking 
             inspirations from his family who also give him the drive and 
             determination to be the best he can be. Great to have him back 
             once again.

             We begin with the Original Mix of Run, which sets the tone with 
             a rhythmic drum arrangement. Striking jazzy trumpets are joined 
             by cascading piano notes and a cool vocal shot. A deep, chugging 
             bassline drives the groove effortlessly, forcing you to move as 
             bright, funky stabs cut through the spectrum. Trevor Gordon 
             returns to PR on remix duties, following on from his last remix 
             of Blue by Abyss (Giuseppe Morabito). Taking inspiration from 
             legendary artists such as Ian Pooley, Olav Basoski and Kerri 
             Chandler among others, Canadian producer Trevor set a goal to 
             pursue house music production. He has since gone on to gain 
             notoriety with his distinct deep house sound. Here, his 
             interpretation of Run heads straight to the funk department, 
             delivering a solid, groovy mover for the floors. Chunky beats 
             and rhythmic percussions lead as a superb, funky bassline powers 
             the groove. A myriad of warm notes, sharp plucks, infectious 
             trumpets and a cool vocal combine to create a spectacular moment 
             that is not to be missed. Ghetto Deep concludes the release, 
             taking us a little deeper into house music with a mesmerizing 
             array of sounds. The drums feel warm and inviting, as does the 
             groovy bassline which dominates the low-end. Smooth chords and 
             melodic notes captivate to the backdrop of an expertly 
             constructed drum section, a solid slice that will not disappoint.
