RELEASE NOTES ..:: ] ............................ Back for a further edition of his long-running series, Erdi Irmak provides listeners with a trio of new original tracks courtesy of his Hidden Arcadia, Vol. 7. Opener, Mirai is a silky smooth melodic gem that revolves around a delicately rolling rhythmic groove. Evolving elegantly, filtered melodies come to the sonic foreground where strings, piano and synth combine in melancholic majesty. Breathy vocals add a further wonderful touch in a track full of poise and creativity. Sonzai builds on the intelligent groove of its predecessor as rich piano chords create an air of sadness, complemented by a meandering string section. An acoustic guitar hook adds to the collage as the hypnotic rhythm section and heavy beat drive the track dynamically forwards. The third original track continues the musical narrative with a balance of muted synths and organic instrumentation through Sekai. Clever answer and call phrases make their presence felt as a sustained string section adds depth and texture before a strong synth phrase cuts through the mid-range. The subtle development of melodic layers and hypnotic rhythm thus provide a unique and atmospheric piece. A Peruvian artist of growing repute, Luis Lon is a master of cross-genre sounds that range between house, techno and ambient. Finding his music featured on such established imprints as Stripped Recordings, Nie Wieder Schlafen and Kindisch, a late 2021 Particles debut saw a remix of Jayden Klight's Refraction in collaboration with Haider Uppal. Now debuting on Proton Music, the Luis Lon remix of In Depth from Volume 6, makes exceptional use of a cluster of atmospheric and effected voices, while a chunky stepped rhythm provides a powerful anchor. A legato bassline adds depth while subtly pitched motifs and staccato synths add to the feel. Opening up in the second half, familiar motifs from Erdi Irmak's original can be heard but they are immaculately reinterpreted in new sonic directions with Luis Lon creating a powerful new interpretation. An artist whose performances across the globe at the likes of Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle and the prestigious Rainbow Serpent Festival, have seen amhin delight audiences time and again. Simultaneously, the Irishman has seen a parallel rise to prominence through his production work for a host of labels including Meanwhile, Vapour Recordings and onedotsixtwo. A single remix for Proton Music in the shape of Michael A's Silent Moments is now joined by a delicate reworking of Walls that is a flowing river of sound from the dark, rolling bassine undercurrents to the delicate synth ripples that meander across the surface with consummate ease. Anchored by a heavy beat and metronomic hi-hat pattern, amhin's skill is to majestically weave elements from Erdi Irmak's Walls into a cascading stream of new melodic elements that shimmer and sparkle through opulent delays and reverbs. A musical maestro, Erdi Irmak provides a trio of new tracks with remixes coming from Luis Lon and amhin in Hidden Arcadia, Vol. 7. Directed by Jay Epoch Mastered by Cid Inc.
