Known for his work in bands like Fat Freddy's Drop and The Tornadoes, 
Julien Dyne's solo work is making waves following an early start on 
BBE - and later on Soundway in 2018 with the Teal LP. MODES continues 
the warm and soulful approach to house music soundscapes and afro- 
inspired, percussive jazz of that aforementioned LP.. Bumping along at 
R&B-house tempos in tracks like "Grl" and "Bison" - Ladi6 gives up 
some Erykah Badu vibes in "Be Real" next to other class vocals numbers 
like "Resolution (feat Joe Dukie). A super unique album that should 
not only put Julien Dyne on the map but some of New Zealand's most 
well known and iconic vocalists like Lord Echo and Mara TK (Electric 
Wire Hustle) to soul legends Dallas Tamaira, Che Fu and Troy Kingi.
