     How many 'lost tapes' did Masters at Work find when rummaging through     
      their archives of unreleased music last year? It was clearly a high      
     number, because the subsequent release series has now hit 16 EPs with     
     more on the way. The latest missive takes us back to the early-to-mid     
        1990s, a period in which the New York duo were the hottest house       
      producers on the planet. Opener 'Light Up' dates from 1994 and sees      
        Kenny and Louie wrap clibnking melodic motifs, sustained string        
      samples, twisted riffs and gorgeous piano chords around a typically      
      chunky NYC house groove. In contrast, 1992's 'It's Right' mines the      
     swinging, loose-limbed drums, deep bass, ear-catching organ riffs and     
      glassy-eyed female vocal samples that were such a part of the NY/NJ      
                      'garage-house' sound of the period.
