A prolific DJ in the South American dance scene under the name, Red Cardinal, Mau has recently started to produce his own sounds with outstanding results. Great to see him back once again. Back In Time takes a contemporary look at the sounds of the past. Beautifully layered, warm chords and plucky notes combine to the backdrop of punchy beats and sharp hi hats. Tension builds in the distant string ensemble which contrasts nicely with the powerful groove. A definite must have. Dawn completes the release, offering up a more prominent, upfront groove thanks to some nice thumping kicks and a deep, lush bassline. Cool chords lead, mesmerizing with their laidback vibe.
