      Scruscru's Scruniversal label continue a fine run of form with this      
     two-tracker from Shabi, a Berlin-based DJ and producer who trained as     
      a jazz guitarist from a young age before discovering a love of deep      
        house, garage and disco. The track titles, 'The Way We Funk' and       
      'Groovin' Dat Jazz', kinda give the game away, but essentially we're     
      looking at a brace of rolling, midtempo, jazz-flecked groovers, with     
     saxophone and indecipherable female vocal snips vying with a clutch of    
      samples for your attention on the latter, but with 'The Way We Funk'     
      nudging it for yours truly thanks to its excellent use of a classic      
                              Cevin Fisher vocal.
