Stefan Braatz, a renowned figure in Berlin's underground scene,
returns to Nu Groove with his four-track EP, Outlaw. Braatz, a
versatile DJ and producer with a 30-year career, is celebrated for his
genre-defying expertise and fusion of old and new school techniques.
His previous Nu Groove release, 'Everyman Jack', featured the iconic
Chicago duo Virgo Four, exemplifying his respect for classic
influences. The EP's title track, 'Outlaw', features the legendary
Chicago house vocalist Harry Dennis, known for his collaborations with
Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles. The track blends Braatz's energetic
synths with Dennis's distinctive vocal style. The EP continues with
three solo tracks that reflect Braatz's resistance to genre
limitations: 'Conversation' features a lively interplay between synth
strings and piano loops, while 'Dingy Thoughts' and 'One More Dream'
explore deeper, more intense club sounds.
