             Bonzai Progressive welcomes Subtractive aka Alex Hunt, back to 
             the label with the superb 'Eyes Of Wisdom EP' which follows his 
             well-received debut 'The Medici Effect'. The American DJ and 
             producer was raised in a family of music lovers, and he soon 
             developed a passion for electronic music, and began 
             experimenting with music creation, honing his skills in mixing, 
             sampling and synthesis. Influenced by the sound of Detroit's 
             underground scene, Subtractive was born, with a focus on 
             unconventional music. Alex's compositions push the boundaries of 
             electronic music, while still maintaining an irresistible rhythm 
             for dancers. Great to see him back once again.

             We begin with the title track 'Eyes Of Wisdom', which takes us 
             into a warm and lush progressive groove thanks to its thick 
             basses and wispy arps. The track opens up with expanding synths 
             accompanied by captivating vocals that send shivers down the 
             spine. Emotive and sometimes tense, this one will definitely 
             work the floors. 'The Shimmer' is up next and offers up a 
             slightly edgier groove while retaining that same intrigue and 
             intimacy of its predecessor. A more direct groove with sharper 
             synths and a rolling bassline which are built on a solid, tight 
             drum arrangement. Ethnic voices and a spoken narrative accent 
             the construction making this one the perfect fodder for any 
             late-night set. 'Story Of Atlantis' is the penultimate track on 
             this already very solid EP and raises the bar even higher with 
             its expertly crafted patterns and enticing grooves. A driving 
             percussive arrangement is led by a nice and chunky kick 
             alongside shuffling hats. Deep basses shore up the low-end as 
             shimmering arps add bounce to the groove. Subtle notes percolate 
             through the darker elements as a wispy pad weaves in and out. 
             'Finding Magic' concludes the release and opens with a punchy 
             kick and bright hi hat combo. Musical phrases ebb and flow as a 
             thick, chunky bassline drives the groove. The track expands with 
             each bar, transforming into a pure progressive mover, filled 
             with mystique, charm and a timeless vibe. A definite must, not 
             to be missed.
