Seven Davis Jr teams up with The Illustrious Blacks, AKA Manchildblack
and Monstah Black - a duo who describe themselves as "Neo Afro
Futuristic Psychedelic Surrealistic Hippys on a mission to save the
world one beat at a time". It's perhaps unsurprising, then, that this
two-track, four-mix EP for Soul Clap is quite hard to describe,
stylistically. But 'Pandemonium' itself has something of a early 80s
feel - you can imagine it played at NYC's legendary Nells alongside
the likes of Was Not Was and Will Powers - while the accompanying
'Shook' sits a little more firmly in the soulful/deep house camp, and
comes with a brace of remixes from Osunlade.
